This Thanksgiving, Give Thanks. Give Back.

September 21 to October 21, 2018

Join the challenge!
Green Wood Coalition and Local Food for Local Good invite you to join the Around the Table Thanksgiving Challenge by hosting a Thanksgiving dinner or harvest party to help raise funds those in need.

Give Thanks

Here’s how it works: 1. Register your Thanksgiving celebration online (your dinner or party can take place any time between Sept. 21 and Oct. 21) 2. Collect donations at your gathering in memory of a loved one or to honor someone you are thankful for 3. Fundraising and giving tips will be available for dinner hosts 4. Submit your donations by Oct. 21 (information on how to submit your online and offline donations will be included in your registration kit) 5. Give thanks!

Give Thanks. Give Back.

Thanksgiving is about community.  It’s about celebrating the harvest season; gathering together with family, friends and neighbours to reflect on what we’re thankful for and who we’re grateful for.

Around the Table

When we gather around a table, we’re saying ‘everyone is welcome, everyone belongs.’ When we know someone is going without food or we leave someone sleeping on the street, we’re saying, ‘you don’t belong.’  Building this much-needed fundraising campaign around a powerful symbol of inclusion, while remembering how thankful we should be for what we have, goes to the heart of what community is all about.
